The second season of the NBA 2K League debuted April 2 with “The Tipoff,” a five-day event in which each of the 21 teams faced off for a $120,000 prize pool. That same day, HyperX renewed its partnership as the league’s official headset provider. There are four expansion teams this year, and the Hornets announced they will have a team in 2020, as the league grows in size and influence.

Arms Runner had to be euthanized on April 1, becoming the 23rd horse to die at the Santa Anita racetrack since late December. The death of the 5-year-old gelding came just two days after the track reopened after having been shut down for nearly a month for an investigation into what has caused the rise in fatalities.
