The NBA banned an esports player from its NBA2K league for the first time, dismissing 24-year-old Austin “Boo Painter” Painter from the Wizards District Gaming team for violating the league’s code of conduct. Painter, who left a job at the U.S. State Department to join the Wizards, was the team’s leading scorer at 32.3 points per game.

The NFL hitting the pause button on making uniforms available on “Fortnite” was always part of its plan, according to a source, not a reaction to criticism after gamers dressed up characters in controversial ways, such as the late Aaron Hernandez with a gun.
