The NBA banned an esports player from its NBA2K league for the first time, dismissing 24-year-old Austin “Boo Painter” Painter from the Wizards District Gaming team for violating the league’s code of conduct. Painter, who left a job at the U.S. State Department to join the Wizards, was the team’s leading scorer at 32.3 points per game.
