Fan experience drives Coca-Cola 600 plans

Charlotte Motor Speedway has worked to streamline and simplify many aspects of the fan and ticket-buying experience heading into this weekend’s Coca-Cola 600.

The track has expanded its Journey of the Fan initiative, which restructured CMS’s pre-race activities in order to make sure major events like a driver autograph signing doesn’t conflict with another event like a concert. The track also has simplified its infield ticket options to go from selling both a pit pass option and a driver intro pass option to simply having one option with the perks from both prior offers. The new Track Pass offer for this year costs $100.

The track is unveiling a large replica trophy for fans to take selfies next to it, and it has shifted its $25 college ticket offer to where those fans will now have general admission to the Turn 4 sun deck rather than a reserved seat in the grandstands.

This will also be the first 600 during which fans can use Square’s payment processing technology to purchase concessions. The system provides both chip reader and contactless payment options.
