Leaving the ring: PR Vet Chris Bellitti leaves WWE after 14 months

Veteran sports PR hand Chris Bellitti has left WWE after a 14-month stint with the company. Bellitti, who joined the company as a senior vice president of communications in September 2016, described the move as amicable.

“I’m grateful I had the opportunity to work with incredible people like Stephanie McMahon and Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque,” Bellitti said. “I wish them the best.”

Bellitti has spent the bulk of his career in sports media, starting with ESPN in the early 2000s before moving to a senior role on Fox Sports’ public relations team in 2006. He remained at Fox until taking the PR role at WWE.

Bellitti would not elaborate on his next move but said he would like to stay involved in sports. “There is a reason companies like Facebook and Amazon are starting to distribute sports programming,” he said.
