Golf Channel isn’t shorting Long Drive
It’s not one of the biggest events on Golf Channel’s schedule, but the network’s commitment to the World Long Drive Association has remained strong.
Golf Channel, which bought the association last year, sold a title sponsorship to the World Long Drive Championship (Aug. 31-Sept. 6) to golf ball maker Volvik, marking the first time in three years the event will have a title sponsor.
It also sold a sponsorship to Avis as the championship’s official rental car.
The sponsorships come as Golf Channel expands its coverage this year with three televised events, including live coverage of the women’s division.
