AEG, the sports and entertainment Goliath owned by Anschutz, continues to make its presence felt. In April, AEG, through a joint venture with MGM Resorts International, opened T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, a city where multiple proposals to build sports venues have died over the years. Next year, an NHL expansion team becomes the arena’s primary tenant. Overseas, AEG has expanded its portfolio beyond facilities to entertainment districts.
