Baseball
The Texas Rangers named senior director of media sales Wade Howell general manager for the club’s soon-to-be-named Class A Advanced Carolina League franchise in Kinston, N.C.

BEZEK
Ripken Baseball hired Brian Bezek as manager of player development and Ripken Performance Metrics.

The Texas League named Tim Purpura president, succeeding Tom Kayser, who will assist with the transition through February.

Basketball
Jeramie McPeek is stepping down from his position as Phoenix Suns vice president for digital and brand strategy to expand his social media consulting business.

Colleges
The Patriot League hired Lynn Hughes as director of compliance and sport management. Hughes was compliance and communications coordinator for the Mountain West Conference.

The University of Michigan named Katie Fraumann executive associate athletic director for development. Fraumann was executive director for development and alumni engagement for the university’s School of Public Health.

The University of North Texas hired Jared Mosley as associate vice president and chief operating officer for athletics. Mosley was president and chief executive officer for the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

Arizona State University hired Ken Landphere as a senior associate athletic director. Landphere was director of football operations for Octagon.

The University of San Diego promoted vice president for athletics and facilities management Ky Snyder to vice president of operations and chief operations officer. Snyder will continue his day-to-day responsibilities in athletics until a new athletic director is hired.

Temple University promoted Tim Thiess to senior associate athletic director for finance and administration and Scott Walcoff to senior associate athletic director for external operations.

The Colonial Athletic Association hired Brian Gordon as associate commissioner for football. Gordon was director of football operations and equipment services at North Dakota State University.

The Sun Belt Conference named Whitney Haworth digital and social media correspondent.

Alabama State University hired Terrance Jones as senior associate athletic director for external operations. Jones was associate athletic director for marketing and promotions at Delaware State University.

Appalachian State University promoted Brian Tracy to senior associate athletic director for external affairs and Brittney Whiteside to senior associate athletic director for administration and senior women’s administrator.

The University of North Florida hired Kaitlin Parsons as associate director of athletic marketing. Parsons was assistant director of marketing at the University of Idaho.

Facilities
International Speedway Corp. named Rick Brenner president of Michigan International Speedway. Brenner was president of DSF Sports and Entertainment.

Richmond International Raceway hired Brent Gambill as director of communications.

Golf

Rich Brady was promoted to tournament director of the PGA Tour event (formerly the Deutsche Bank Championship) at TPC Boston. Brady replaces Mike Antolini, who was named tournament director of the PGA Tour’s Genesis Open in Los Angeles.

The PGA Tour Champions Mitsubishi Electric Classic hired Monte Ortel as tournament director. Ortel was tournament director for the PGA Tour’s The Greenbrier Classic.

Hockey
The NHL named former player George Parros director of player safety.

The New York Rangers promoted Chris Drury to assistant general manager.

The ECHL’s Worcester (Mass.) Railers hired Eric Lindquist as vice president of communications and marketing. Lindquist was manager of public relations and broadcasting for the American Hockey League’s San Jose Barracuda.

The Los Angeles Kings named Trevor Rabone supervisor for production and Jonathan Anderson manager of game-used merchandise.

Law
Matthew Kelly launched the Charlotte-based Kelly Law Group.

IMG Learfield Ticketing Solutions promoted Tyler Reichwein to regional manager for the Midwest and Amanda Shugarts to general manager at the University of Tennessee.

IMRE hired Megan Fox as an associate account executive.

Just Marketing International hired Braden Hurley as a director.

CONRAD
Learfield named Kirsten Conrad as director of integrated digital media sales. Conrad was social media director for CultureMap. The company also named Josh Perot general manager and Gary Northen manager of business development at Louisiana Tech University. Perot was vice president and Lincoln Parish market leader for First National Bank in Ruston (La.), and Northen was general manager for Peak Sports at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Intrepid Marketing Group promoted Torrey Winchester to vice president.

Media
TEN: The Enthusiast Network promoted Elana Scherr to editor of Roadkill.

Turner’s Bleacher Report hired Ben Osborne as editor-in-chief, Matt Sullivan as director of editorial innovation and special projects, Ryan Smith as director of the content design team and Jonathan Abrams as a special-projects writer.

Discovery Communications hired Ralph Rivera as managing director for Eurosport Digital. Rivera was director of BBC Digital.

NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises named Ray Warren president of Telemundo Deportes. Warren was executive vice president and chief revenue officer for NBC Sports Regional Networks.

Showtime Networks promoted Chris DeBlasio to senior vice president for sports communications.

Soccer
FIFA hired Thomas Peyer as chief finance officer. Peyer chief financial officer for the Kuoni Group.

The North American Soccer League’s Minnesota United FC named Tim Carter academy director to lead its soccer development academy system.

Other
The BMW Dallas Marathon named Paul Lambert president. Lambert was president of Global Sports Properties.

Awards and Boards
The USA Rugby board of directors named Will Chang chairman and Rob King vice chairman. Dean Barrett, former McDonald’s senior vice president and global marketing officer, was named to the board.
