Founder, managing principal, Meis Architects
Meis is a respected sports architect whose career spans nearly three decades across multiple firms. Most recently, he’s settled into his own shop in Southern California with a focus on international soccer after hiring Tim Lambert and Jan Szupinski, veteran designers of MLS stadiums. Together, they’re setting the tone for the next generation of European soccer venues, designing stadiums for AS Roma and Everton FC. Closer to home, AEG has entrusted Meis Architects with upgrading the three suite levels at Staples Center, the Los Angeles arena that plays host to both the NHL and NBA all-star games over the next two years. Meis knows the building well. He was among Staples Center’s original architects during his tenure at NBBJ.
