Hatfield serves as the engineering expert for Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Atlanta Falcons’ future home. The stadium will showcase one of the most innovative retractable roofs in sports, and Hatfield’s role is critical for ensuring the mechanism works as intended. The focus is on developing a movable roof with the flexibility and practicality to accommodate Super Bowls and Final Fours, and remain open as much as possible for Falcons and Atlanta United FC soccer games. Hatfield is also working on Colgate University’s new $50 million hockey arena, set to open in October.
