Retailers betting on Broncos for most sales

There is a unanimous choice among retailers as to which team will generate the most licensed merchandise sales if it wins Super Bowl 50: Denver.

“Peyton Manning going for one last win is clearly the best story for sales,” said Milt Arenson, FMI president and CEO. “Broncos fans travel, whether or not the game is nearby, and [Santa Clara] is relatively close to Denver.”

Cary Schack, president of NFL hard-goods licensee Rico Industries, said his company’s if-win orders for the AFC Championship favored Denver by 7-1. “They’ll be bigger for Denver on the Super Bowl, and it’s been a long time [17 years] since they won, which is good for business,” he said. “It wouldn’t be like what Seattle was, but Denver’s a vibrant market.”
