Dunn Tire partners with Sabres, Amerks
Dunn Tire, which earlier this year signed on as a sponsor with the Buffalo Bills, added marketing deals with the Buffalo Sabres and their top affiliate in the American Hockey League, the Rochester Americans. Buffalo-based Dunn Tire is also partnering with Kumho Tire U.S.A. to sponsor St. Bonaventure University with the Dunn Tire Family Section in the Reilly Center, the college’s on-campus arena.

The new displays were a key part of the renovation of the 60-year-old venue.

New displays for Checkers
Daktronics partnered with the city to outfit Bojangles’ Coliseum with a center-hung display system and several other LED displays, part of a $16 million renovation. The configuration will consist of four main video displays, four auxiliary displays and a ring display, with the main displays measuring 12.5 feet high by 22 feet wide. The arena is home to the AHL Charlotte Checkers.

GREEN BAY
Packers adding operable windows

The Green Bay Packers will renovate about 160 suites at Lambeau Field over the next two years, adding operable windows to what are now closed spaces, according to a Green Bay Press-Gazette report. The team’s $55 million investment also includes updated carpet and decor, larger refrigerators and larger smart TVs.

Hornets have eyes on Greensboro

The Charlotte Hornets selected Greensboro as the host city for their NBA D-League franchise. Hornets President and COO Fred Whitfield said that the team will play its home games in the Pavilion at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. The new team is set to begin play next fall.

Grizzlies’ trail granted permanency

The Memphis Grizzlies Riverfront Fitness Trail, otherwise known as RiverFit, was granted permanency from the city of Memphis as a public fixture at Tom Lee Park. The park’s permanent status spurred a summerlong enhancement plan, providing the framework for its reinstallation and relaunch celebration event last month. Safeway takes over Frys.com Open

Safeway is the new title sponsor of the PGA Tour event formerly known as the Frys.com Open. The five-year deal for the Safeway Open begins next year and runs through 2020 with the event remaining at Silverado Resort and Spa for the duration.

Nets, YES reach new agreement

The Brooklyn Nets reached a new agreement for media rights with the YES Network. The YES Network has televised Nets games since the inception of the network in 2002.

Arena theater signs title sponsor
Tidal, an experiential music and entertainment platform, is the new title sponsor of the theater at Barclays Center. Tidal Theater will offer a new curtaining system for an intimate theater configuration. As part of its naming-rights agreement, Tidal will be curating a minimum of eight events annually in the Tidal Theater with emerging and established artists.

AmEx joins Warriors’ Gold Alliance

The Golden State Warriors and American Express reached a multiyear sponsorship deal making AmEx the official card of the team, a designation it also has with the NBA. AmEx joins the Warriors Gold Alliance group, a partnership made up of key sponsors.

SSE working with Invictus Games

Shamrock Sports & Entertainment was hired to develop corporate partnerships for next year’s Invictus Games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The inaugural 2014 Games in London attracted competitors from 13 nations and shone a spotlight on the sacrifices men and women have made serving their respective countries.

Sky Blue FC hires PSE

Precision Sports Entertainment was chosen to handle sponsorship sales for Sky Blue FC, the NWSL team that plays home games at Yurcak Field. New Jersey-based PSE will be charged with building the corporate sponsorship portfolio for the women’s professional soccer team.

Brewer’s beer honors the ‘3’

Pyramid Breweries teamed up with the Portland Trail Blazers to create a limited-edition beer called Reigning 3s. The unfiltered white pale ale is Pyramid’s take on its own 3-pointer, using a combination of Cascade, Apollo and Lemon Drop hops. Pyramid will make a $10 donation to the Oregon Food Bank for every 3-point shot the Trail Blazers make during the 2015-16 season.

Seahawks name official kombucha

The Seattle Seahawks and fermented tea brewer Humm Kombucha reached a deal making Humm the team’s official kombucha. The team will promote the partnership with sample tea tastings at CenturyLink Field.

Hertha Berlin signs new agency
Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin agreed to a two-year partnership with Match IQ. The Hamburg-based agency will provide advice on the planning and organization of friendlies and training camps.

KALININGRAD, RUSSIA
Final stadium price tag set
Russia’s Ministry of Sports agreed on the cost of construction for the Kaliningrad stadium, a future World Cup venue, according to an Inside World Football report. The ministry agreed that the cost should not exceed $296 million. Construction pricing had been stalled over the amount of groundwork required for the stadium, the last among all 2018 sites to begin construction.

LONDON
NFL, Wembley extend agreement
The NFL extended its agreement to play regular-season games at Wembley Stadium for an additional five years, meaning that at least two games a year will be played at Wembley through 2020. The NFL has the option to extend the agreement for an additional five years beyond 2020.

PSG dons denim with Levi’s deal
Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain and Levi’s joined forces with the launch of a range of denim products. The collaboration focuses on providing fans around the world with clothing that they can wear during sporting occasions and in their daily lives.

READING, ENGLAND
Team secures software sponsor
The Norton business unit of global software company Symantec Corp. joined Premiership rugby side London Irish as an official sponsor of the club. The deal will see the Norton brand become the club’s official security software partner, with the Norton brand appearing on the club’s playing shorts.
