People: Executive transactions

Colleges
Furman University Athletic Director Gary Clark will step down from his position but will remain at Furman to assist in the transition.

New York Institute of Technology named Duane Bailey athletic director, effective June 1. Bailey was deputy athletic director at Seton Hall University.

Oakland University hired Marshall Foley as associate athletic director. Foley was associate commissioner for championships for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Ave Maria University named Kimberly King athletic director. King was assistant athletic director for leadership, counseling and life skills at Binghamton University.

Ohio University hired Anthony Reynolds as assistant athletic director of media relations. Reynolds was sports information director at Northern Michigan University.

Southern Illinois University hired Tommy Bell as athletic director. Bell was athletic director at Western Illinois University.

Texas Tech University hired Chad Weiberg as deputy athletic director. Weiberg was senior associate athletic director for development at Kansas State University.

The NCAA named J.D. Collins national coordinator of men’s basketball officiating. Collins was coordinator of officials for the Mid-American Conference and Summit League and commissioner for the NAIA’s Crossroads League.

The American Athletic Conference hired Stacy Martin as chief financial officer. Martin was executive senior associate athletic director for finance and administration at the University of Memphis.

The Big East Conference named Tracy Ellis-Ward associate commissioner for women’s basketball and Kelly O’Neil assistant commissioner for community and academic initiatives.

The University of Massachusetts Lowell promoted Sandra Niedergall to senior associate athletic director and senior women’s administrator.

Facilities
Charlotte Motor Speedway promoted Tim Schuldt to senior vice president of consumer marketing, communications and sales.

Football
The Jacksonville Jaguars hired Jeff Lesser and Justin Younghans as directors of corporate partnerships. Lesser was director of global partnerships for the New York Islanders, Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center, and Younghans was director of business operations and executive entertainment for the Washington Redskins.

The Philadelphia Eagles promoted Louis Clark to senior director of pro personnel and hired Dwayne Joseph as director of pro scouting. Joseph was associate director of pro personnel for the Chicago Bears.

The San Diego Chargers hired Peter Lopez as manager of premium seating sales. Lopez was premium sales manager at the University Of California.

HART
The Dallas Stars hired Chris Hart as director of corporate partnerships. Hart was corporate partnerships manager for Palace Sports & Entertainment.

Sunrise Sports & Entertainment and the Florida Panthers hired Jim Willits as executive vice president of sales. Willits was vice president of sales for Pointstreak Sports Technologies.

Marketing
Learfield Sports named Devin Berg general manager for its Eastern College Athletic Conference sports properties. Berg was a corporate account executive for Harbor Yard Sports and Entertainment.

Media
Disney Media Networks and ESPN promoted Justin Connolly to executive vice president of Disney and ESPN affiliate sales and marketing, and broadened the role of Ed Erhardt, president of global sales and marketing.

ESPN promoted Burke Magnus to executive vice president of programming and scheduling; Rosalyn Durant to senior vice president of college networks to oversee the SEC and Longhorn networks and ESPNU; Tina Thornton to senior vice president of production and multimedia sponsorship integration and management operations; Connor Schell to senior vice president and executive producer for ESPN Films and original content; Libby Geist to vice president for ESPN Films and original projects; and John Dahl to vice president and executive producer for ESPN Films and original content.

Sportvision named Marv White chief technology officer. White was chief technologist for innovation for ESPN.

Soccer
Orlando City SC hired Tim Holt as vice president of development. Holt was formerly president for the United Soccer League.

The MLS expansion Los Angeles Football Club hired Carl Schloessman as chief operating officer. Schloessman was executive vice president of sales and marketing for Live Nation Entertainment’s clubs and theaters division.

NexGuard hired Jean-Philippe Plantevin as senior vice president of products and solutions.

Victus Advisors named George Cooley II a senior associate. Cooley was sports development director for Destination DC.

Sportradar US hired Steve Byrd as chief commercial officer. Byrd was co-chief operating officer for Stats LLC.

StubHub named Jeff Poirier country manager for Canada.

Douglas Elliman Real Estate launched a new division, Douglas Elliman Sports & Entertainment, and named Darren Weiner managing director.

Awards and Boards
NextVR named Peter Guber, Mandalay Entertainment Group chairman and chief executive officer; Scott Teissler, former Turner Broadcasting executive vice president, chief technology officer and chief digital strategy officer; and Doug Perlman, Sports Media Advisors founder and chief executive officer, to its advisory board.
