Jackets’ warmups fetch $25,000
During the Columbus Blue Jackets’ annual Hockey Fights Cancer Night on Oct. 17, the players wore custom purple jerseys during warmups to acknowledge the awareness color for all cancers. The Blue Jackets Foundation raised $24,750 from the signed jerseys, with proceeds benefiting local pediatric cancer programs.

DALLAS
FC Dallas, AdvoCare extend deal

AdvoCare extended its multimillion-dollar jersey sponsorship with FC Dallas through 2020. The sponsorship began in 2012. As part of the extension, FC Dallas plans to unveil a new away kit in 2015 and a new home kit in 2016. The AdvoCare logo also will appear on the front of all team gear and throughout Toyota Stadium and Toyota Soccer Center.

Bowl game on Zaxby’s menu
Zaxby’s will become the new title sponsor of the Heart of Dallas Bowl. The game will be called the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl and played on Dec. 26 at Cotton Bowl Stadium. The sponsorship will be for four years through the 2017 game, with an option to extend.

GREEN BAY
Fans wearing special radio sets

The Green Bay Packers are giving some of their fans ear-mounted radio receivers for use only on game days and only within or near Lambeau Field, according to a New York Times report. The receivers can receive WTMJ, the team’s official radio station; the audio from the television network broadcasting the game; and the audio from NFL RedZone. The devices are given to season-ticket holders with premium seats and are sold in the team pro shop at the stadium for $19.95.

Claudia Williams telling Ted stories
Claudia Williams, daughter of baseball hall of famer Ted Williams, spoke at Louisville Slugger Museum last month as part of her book tour promoting “Ted Williams, My Father.” Claudia Williams, 43, released her memoir this year to share stories about her dad as a person beyond baseball. She was born about 13 years after he retired from the game.

MILWAUKEE
Pettit Center renews with OAW

Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin renewed its sponsorship at the Pettit National Ice Center. OAW will be recognized as the official sports medicine provider for the center and will receive signage on the exterior of the building, along with a presence inside the facility.

NEW YORK
Knicks sign ZTE sponsorship

Chinese cell phone brand ZTE signed a multiyear sponsorship deal with the New York Knicks, joining the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors as NBA teams with ZTE as a sponsor. ZTE signed on for NBA marketing rights in China last year.

Nets align with FanDuel

The Brooklyn Nets established their first alliance with a fantasy sports company by aligning with FanDuel. As a part of the marketing agreement, the Nets will award tickets on behalf of FanDuel to qualifying local community organizations.

ORLANDO
New MLS team signs credit union

Orlando City SC signed a multiyear partnership with Central Florida-based financial institution Fairwinds Credit Union to become its official credit union and one of its founding partners. Fairwinds will be given branding and on-site activation during Orlando City’s 2015 season at the Citrus Bowl, as well as in 2016, when the team moves into its new stadium.

PHILADELPHIA
StubHub extends, expands with Sixers

The Philadelphia 76ers extended their partnership with StubHub. StubHub will continue to present the “StubHub Move of the Game” at every Sixers home game, where fans can win upgraded seats. Additionally, StubHub will have an increased presence at Sixers games, including signage on all basket stanchions and pole pads, courtside and 360 LED ring signage, and on the scoreboard.

Flyers set open practice in Atlantic City
The Philadelphia Flyers will be heading to Atlantic City on Sunday for an open practice at Boardwalk Hall. The event will be the first appearance for the full team in Atlantic City since the team played an exhibition game against the New York Rangers at Boardwalk Hall in 1982. The open practice is sponsored by Tropicana Casino & Resort.

Suns, Mercury sign Fractured Prune
The Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury entered into a new, multiyear marketing partnership with Fractured Prune Doughnuts Arizona. The shop at US Airways Center opened last week for the Suns’ regular-season home opener. Fractured Prune Doughnuts began in Ocean City, Md., in 1976.

Cricket’s Kings flying AirAsia
Low-cost airline AirAsia India reached a sponsorship agreement with Indian Premier League cricket side Kings XI Punjab, according to a PTI report. Kings XI Punjab, which reached the semifinals of the Champions League Twenty20 this year, is co-owned by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta.

Para-athletics event set for 2016
IPC Athletics, the international federation for para-athletics, announced that Dubai will stage the first IPC Athletics Asia-Oceania Championships from March 3-8, 2016. The event is part of IPC Athletics’ strategy to give para-athletes more opportunities and is expected to attract 600 athletes from 45 countries.

Croke Park eyes 2023 Rugby Cup
Ireland will make increasing the spirit of cooperation among sporting bodies a key part of its bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup, according to a London Times report. Croke Park will be one of six Gaelic Athletic Association grounds that will form part of a bid likely to be submitted within the next two months.

Rangers accept Ashley’s bailout
Scottish Championship side Rangers FC accepted shareholder Mike Ashley’s $3.2 million bailout, according to a (Scotland) Daily Record report. The Newcastle United owner could make a bid for full control of the Rangers.

Freezers extend airline partnership
German Hockey League club Hamburg Freezers extended its partnership with budget airline easyJet until the end of the 2014-15 season.

Fans angry over ticket prices

Liverpool fans protested against ticket prices at Anfield during their recent 0-0 draw against Hull City, according to a (London) Daily Mail report. Banners reading “£NOUGH IS £NOUGH” and “Kop Kids pay Adult Prices” were on show with supporters angry at paying up to $95 to see last year’s Premier League runner-up.

Liverpool FC starting new channel
Liverpool FC said that LFCTV is launching a new HD channel, boosting content and expanding its schedule to 24 hours a day, according to an Inside World Football report. The channel, which first launched in 2007, will feature a new-look interactive studio, regular live news bulletins from Melwood training ground and exclusive interviews.

Arsenal partners with Markets.com
Arsenal FC named trading provider Markets.com an official partner. As the club’s official forex, CFD and binary trading partner, Markets.com will activate the partnership in a number of territories, with a particular focus on Asia, where the Gunners have made recent preseason tours and have sustained digital fan engagement.

LYON, FRANCE
Euro 2016, Lyon reach agreement
Euro 2016 organizing committee President Jacques Lambert and Ligue 1 side Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas announced the partnership between Euro 2016 SAS and Lyon, which gives the club the title of official hospitality provider for UEFA Euro 2016. The Grand Stade de Lyon will host six matches and a semifinal of the event.

Glory names ocular health partner
A-League side Perth Glory reached a partnership with Australian eye care provider Laubman and Pank, which will be the club’s official ocular health partner for the 2014-15 season.

SYDNEY
Asian Cup games headed to free TV
ABC secured a deal to screen all of Australia’s international football matches at January’s Asian Cup live on free-to-air TV, plus November’s friendly against Japan in Osaka, according to a (Sydney) Morning Herald report. ABC is also the tournament’s official radio broadcaster.
