The Philadelphia Phillies promoted Mati Wolever to assistant general manager of amateur scouting.

The Texas Rangers named Tony Fernandez special assistant to the general manager.

The Class AA Southern League’s Pensacola (Fla.) Blue Wahoos hired Shelley Yates as events coordinator. Yates was the marketing and public relations director of the Great Southern Restaurant Group.

The Los Angeles Lakers named Allison Howard director of corporate partnerships. Howard was vice president of corporate partnerships at Premier Partnerships.

Georgia State University named Erik Paz assistant athletic director for compliance. Paz was assistant compliance director at Marshall University.

Grambling State University named Percy Caldwell athletic director. Caldwell held the same position at Fort Valley State University.

Northern State University named Joshua Moon athletic director. Moon was assistant athletic director of compliance and sports administration at Central Michigan University.

Palm Beach Atlantic University named Carolyn Stone athletic director.

Temple University named Joe Giunta senior associate athletic director for sports administration. Giunta was director of athletics and recreation at Cabrini College.

Montgomery Motor Speedway named Chris Carter general manager.

BBVA Compass Stadium named Paul Byrne director of operations, Dennis Moynihan director of ticketing, Brock Jessel director of facility presentation, Gina Rotolo marketing, public relations and booking manager, Rodney Griffin turf and grounds manager, Raul Gutierrez senior manager of guest services and security, Amber Goodspeed senior event manager, Jareel Combest manager of operations, David McKenzie manager of facilities and engineering and Jarrod Veal human resources manager.

Global Spectrum and the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell hired Joe Fellini as director of sales. Fellini oversaw the sports and entertainment division of Mansfield Sales Partners.

The Washington Redskins named Phillip Daniels director of player development.

Oakland Raiders senior executive John Herrera retired.


The Columbus Blue Jackets hired Marcus Lyons as director of premium sales and service.

The American Hockey League’s Texas Stars named Steve Sherrill vice president of corporate sales for the Texas Stars and Cedar Park Center. Sherrill was general sales manager at 103.1 FM and AM 1300 The Zone in Austin.

Fathom named Steve Kessen director of sports marketing. Kessen was vice president and general manager of TeamWork Online.

GMR Marketing promoted Jonathan Norman to senior director of client strategy. Norman was director of sports strategy.

Schoen Marketing named Mary Murano head of business development. Murano was executive vice president of TV networks distribution at NBC Universal.

Media Ventures named Gary Jacobus executive vice president and head of business development. Jacobus was vice president of global marketing partnerships at the NBA.

Team Epic promoted Joe Zajac to the new position of vice president and group director.

ESPN 1420 and ESPN 1500, the Honolulu affiliates of ESPN Radio, named Mike Kelly president and general manager. Kelly was vice president and general manager at Cox Radio Hawaii.

Root Sports Pittsburgh named Nicholas Del Greco director of marketing. Del Greco held the same position with CBS Radio.

USA Today Sports Media Group named David Marshall Jr. vice president and creative director. Marshall was creative director at ESPN.


Hendrick Motorsports named Amy Walsh manager of brand and digital, Todd Davey account executive and Jordan McNerney communications representative.

IndyCar named John Polkis vice president of corporate business development and Jason Clark to senior manager of partner strategy. Polkis was director of national accounts at Callaway Golf, and Clark was general manager of the Arena Football League’s Milwaukee Mustangs.

Palace Sports & Entertainment hired Sean Hodgson as director of digital content and Michael Donnay as senior director of brand networks. Hodgson was visual creative manager at Weber Shandwick, and Donnay was account manager on the Chevrolet brands at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.
