Baseball

The Toronto Blue Jays hired Jay Sartori as assistant general manager. Sartori was director of baseball operations for the Washington Nationals.

 

Basketball

The Orlando Magic named Adonal Foyle director of player development.

The NBA Development League’s Idaho Stampede promoted Jinny Giery to vice president of sales and marketing, and hired Travis Tate as media and public relations coordinator and Clay Long, Gary Lalanne and Jack Smith as account executives.

The Memphis Grizzlies named Eric Granger vice president of arena operations. Granger was general manager of Nationwide Arena, and previously was director of event services for the Pyramid and Memphis Cook Convention Center.

The New Jersey Nets hired Milton Lee as director of basketball operations.

Chicago Sky general manager and coach Steven Key resigned.

 

Colleges

The Colonial Athletic Association promoted Scott Meyer to assistant commissioner for CAA football, Niki DeSantis to assistant commissioner for creative services/communications and Kelly Bowmaster to assistant commissioner for creative services/video.

The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association named Bob Boerigter commissioner. Boerigter was athletic director at Northwest Missouri State University.

Harvard University promoted Jeremy Gibson to senior associate athletic director; Tim Wheaton to associate athletic director; Brant Berkstresser, Gary Brown, Duane Reeves, Kurt Svoboda and Luke Walczewski to assistant athletic directors; and Shanna Kornachuk to director of compliance and student services, and added director of athletic alumni relations and stewardship to the title of assistant director of athletic communications Heather Palmer.

Manhattan College promoted Stephen Dombroski to assistant athletic director for communication and marketing.

Mount St. Mary’s promoted Mark Vandergrift to assistant athletic director for athletic communication, and named Chris McFarlane director of athletic development and Virginia McGovern faculty athletic representative.

Morehead State University promoted Richard Fletcher to senior associate athletic director for compliance, Brittany Booth to associate athletic director and Sara Larson to senior woman administrator.

Seattle University hired Mike Hermann as associate athletic director for external affairs. Hermann was athletic director at Towson University.

University of San Francisco Athletic Director Debra Gore-Mann resigned.

 

Facilities

Phoenix International Raceway promoted Jonathan Stone to senior manager of corporate sales and hired Ryan Narramore as manager of communications.

American Seating hired David Southwell as national accounts manager for sports-related projects.

Delaware North Cos.–Boston hired Michael MacConnell as director of corporate partnerships.

Hockey

The ECHL’s Alaska Aces hired Josh Bogorad as play-by-play broadcaster and director of media relations.

 

Lacrosse

The National Lacrosse League’s Philadelphia Wings hired Nikki Varoutsos as marketing manager. Varoutsos was director of marketing for the independent Atlantic League’s Camden (N.J.) Riversharks.

U.S. Lacrosse hired Michael Cochran as membership direct marketing specialist, Paige Crawford as senior membership services representative, Deborah Anekstein Franklin as donor relations manager in the financial development department for the US Lacrosse Foundation, Modyssey Gray as group processing associate, April Logan as assistant to the chief operating officer, Corey McLaughlin as a full-time staff writer for Lacrosse Magazine, Shannon Minter as special events associate, Meghan Mulford as sport development associate and Beth Porreca as director of special events.

Marketing

The Aspire Group promoted Rick Coller to senior group sales consultant at the Georgia Tech Fan Relationship Management Center.

Octagon acquired Rio de Janeiro-based sports marketing firm B2S and named Alexandre Leitao Octagon Brazil president. Leitao was principal at B2S.

Jack Morton Worldwide hired Daryl Butler as senior vice president and managing director of its Los Angeles office. Butler was director of global consumer experience at Nike for the Jordan brand.

SportsOne named Mike Higgins partnership and public relations manager. Higgins is owner of Events Northwest.

Burson-Marsteller hired Jason Teitler as a managing director in its U.S. brand marketing practice. Teitler was executive vice president for Piehead, and previously was senior vice president for Steiner Sports and Entertainment Marketing.

 

Olympics

Hockey Canada promoted Brad Pascall to vice president of hockey operations and national teams; Paul Carson to vice president of hockey development; Scott Farley to vice president of marketing services and events; and Glen McCurdie to vice president of membership services. Chief Operating Officer Scott Smith will oversee day-to-day operations of Hockey Canada, taking the duties over from President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Nicholson.

Speed Skating Canada named John-Paul Cody-Cox chief executive officer. Cody-Cox was executive director of Volleyball Canada.

The U.S. Olympic Committee restructured several divisions within the organization. Mike English will now lead the sport operations division and Alan Ashley will lead the sport performance division, with both reporting to Chief Operating Officer Norman Bellingham. The marketing division will comprise five groups reporting to Lisa Baird, with John Pierce leading marketing services, Susan Goldsmith and Mitch Poll leading partnership marketing, Jordan Schlachter leading business development and Peter Zeytoonjian leading licensing and consumer products. Chester Wheeler will take over responsibility for NGB marketing and business development, and Patrick Sandusky will head Olympic and Paralympic communications under a single division.

 

Soccer

Colorado Youth Soccer hired Jeff Park as chief executive officer.
