The Continental Basketball Association promoted Dennis Truax to commissioner.

The Detroit Pistons promoted Anne Hayes to assistant director of community relations and Erika Swilley to manager of community relations, and hired Jamie Murdoch and Michael Ward as community relations assistants.

The WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury hired Lesley Factor as public relations/community relations manager.

The Oklahoma City Thunder named its business development department, consisting of John Croley as vice president of business development; Lindsay Duncan as broadcast coordinator; Jeff Jacobsen as senior director of business development; Wayne Guymon as director of national sales; Regan Lynn as account services representative; Abby Morgan as senior account services manager; Jennifer Watson as business development coordinator; Tim Whang as senior account services representative; and Charlie Givens, Stephanie Parrish and Ryan O’Toole as account executives. The team also named its events and entertainment department, consisting of John Leach as director of events and entertainment; Todd Albright as events manager; Tyler Cofer as entertainment coordinator; Sabrina Ellison as dance team manager and choreographer; Jason Quintero as entertainment manager; Marc Taylor as manager of mascot affairs; and Tara Fitzpatrick and Jasmine Hall as associates.

The Miami Heat promoted DeAndre Phillips to manager of business communications.

The New Jersey Nets promoted Gregg Polinsky to director of player personnel.

Colleges

The NCAA named Jacqueline Campbell a director and Deneé Barracato an associate director for the Division I Women’s Basketball Championship. Barracato was assistant athletic director and senior woman administrator at Adelphi University, and Campbell was an associate commissioner for the Atlantic 10 Conference.

The University of Pittsburgh promoted John Abrams assistant athletic director for Heinz Field operations, Maureen Anderson to associate athletic director for development, Dan Bartholomae to assistant athletic director for compliance, Chris Ferris to associate athletic director for marketing, Greg Hotchkiss to director of media relations, Mendy Nestor to associate director of media relations and Amy Niceswanger to assistant athletic director for development.

The University of Washington named Scott Woodward athletic director. Woodward was the school’s vice president for external affairs.

Facilities

Sasaki Associates hired Tad Shultz as design principal in the firm’s sports architecture studio. Shultz was senior designer and vice president for HKS Inc.

Suburban Sports Group hired Rachel Sutton as marketing coordinator. Sutton was sales and marketing coordinator for the Ontario Hockey League’s Plymouth (Mich.) Whalers.

Football

The Washington Redskins named former Redskins player Ken Harvey director of responsibility. Harvey will also work with the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation.

USA Football hired Creig Federico as director of events and Matt Sicchio as director of business operations and legal affairs.

The Arena Football League’s New York Dragons named Dana Czapnik director of marketing and media relations. Czapnik was media relations director for the National Lacrosse League’s New York Titans.

The San Francisco 49ers named Jamie Brandt director of ticket services. Brandt was senior director of ticket sales for the Arizona Cardinals.

Golf

PGA.com promoted Gary Treater to senior director of business operations.

Marketing

Paragon Marketing Group promoted Katie Corbett, Whitney Rietdorf and Jenny Smith to account executive.

 Media

Play Hard Sports hired Scott Philp as chief marketing officer. Philp was senior vice president of business development and marketing for RotoHog.com.

Turner Sports promoted Tim Kiely to coordinating producer and Howard Zalkowitz to vice president of production.

The CTV-Rogers Media Consortium named Andrea Goldstein director of communications for the 2010 Vancouver and 2012 London Olympics. Goldstein was director of communications for TSN.

FSN South and SportSouth named Julia Ezell supervisor of remote operations; Philip Olshanski writer, producer and editor for SportSouth; and Eileen Schnettler media relations coordinator. Ezell was manager of broadcast operations and coordinating producer for the Charlotte Bobcats; Olshanksi a Turner Broadcasting writer and producer for broadband video content on its online video game subscription service, GameTap; and Schnettler a communications intern for the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Comcast SportsNet Chicago named Charlie Schumacher senior news director, replacing Joe Riley, who was named senior director of news programming at Golf Channel. Schumacher was assistant news director for WGN-TV in Chicago.

Fuse named Valerie Green as its senior vice president of marketing. Green was head of marketing for Cablevision’s digital commerce and marketing division.

TSN named Greg McIsaac director of communications. McIsaac was senior communications manager for CTV News, Current Affairs and CHUM Radio.

Versus named Neal Scarbrough vice president of digital media. Scarbrough was editor-in-chief and senior vice president of Wasserman Media Group’s SportNet.

Arena Media Networks hired James Stefano as director of team partnerships. Stefano was vice president of product development for Fleer.

Learfield Sports named Meghan Johnson account executive for Big Ten Sports Properties. Johnson was a ticket executive for the Chicago Bulls.

NBA Digital named John Cook coordinating producer and Mike Miller coordinating director for NBA TV. Cook was senior director of studio operations and Miller director of sports remote and studio for Fox Sports Network and SportSouth.

MSG Media promoted Jeff Filippi to vice president of production for television networks MSG and MSG Plus.

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic promoted Eric Shuster to director of strategic partnerships.

ESPN Star Sports promoted Adam Zecha to executive vice president and head of sales for South East Asia.

Fox Sports Arizona named Keith Warren national sales manager. Warren was regional sales manager for ION Media Networks.
