Jim Ferguson, Minor League Baseball director of media relations, retired after 50 years working in baseball.

The Class AA Texas League’s Frisco (Texas) RoughRiders promoted Andrew Kahn to vice president of business development.

The Class A (short season) New York-Penn League’s Tri-City (N.Y.) ValleyCats named Matt Van Pelt media relations manager.

Basketball

The Golden State Warriors hired Colby Edgmon as a ticket sales representative.

The New Jersey Nets promoted John Baier and Patrick Quinn to assistant directors of ticket sales, Dana Bonner to partnership marketing account executive, Nate Gelman and John Warnick to senior account managers, Mark Higuera to senior manager of VIP and all access experience, Dan Millman, Suzanne O’Donnell, Jaime Ponce and Andy Schuman to premium seating managers and Josh Peikon to senior premium seating manager. The team hired Theresa Alaimo as executive assistant for corporate sales, Philip Camilleri as director of financial analysis, Adam Greenfield and Brian Nelson as account managers, Brian Jemison as assistant director of ticket sales, Victor Pereira as system administrator and Jay Wegweiser as director of corporate sales.

Colleges

The Army Athletic Association restructured its external operations departments, naming Bob Beretta senior associate athletic director for athletic communications, relationships and branding. Beretta will oversee Army’s multimedia and broadcasting, marketing and development efforts. Rich DeMarco was promoted to assistant athletic director for multimedia and broadcasting; Doug Fillis to assistant athletic director for development and revenue generation; Brian Gunning to assistant athletic director for athletic communications; Tracy Nelson to director of Internet services in addition to her role as media contact for volleyball, women’s basketball and women’s tennis; Nate Pine to a role in strategic planning for the Army Athletic Association; Mady Salvani to director of research and special reports; Tim Volkmann to director of media event management, and coordinator of media relations for any championship held on campus; and Ryan Yanoshak to director of licensing and branding in addition to his role as primary contact for men’s golf and hockey.

Hockey

The Nashville Predators hired Christian Parker as senior vice president of corporate development and Bradford Hollingsworth as an account executive for corporate partnerships.

The American Hockey League’s Worcester (Mass.) Sharks promoted Ryan Clark to senior account executive for corporate sales.

Horse Racing

The Kentucky Horse Racing Authority hired Dr. Mary Scollay as the organization’s first equine medical director.

Marketing

Conover Tuttle Pace named Catherine Baker media director and Michael McCrary interactive director.

General Sports Alliances hired Earle Fisher as vice president of sales. Fisher was senior director of corporate sales and marketing for the Detroit Lions and Ford Field.

IMG named Tom Knox vice president. Knox, who will be based in IMG’s Charlotte office, was managing director of business development for Richard Childress Racing.

Media

The Associated Press named Michael Lutzky director of product development for AP Sports. Lutzky, who will be based in New York, was an associate with McKinsey and Co.

ESPN promoted John Saccenti and Brant Ringler to senior managers of sales and marketing for ESPN Regional Television, and Stephanie Grant to associate manager of events.

RotoHog named Kelly Perdew chief executive officer. Perdew was president of ProElite.

Sports Commissions and Tourism Boards

The Indiana Sports Corp. named Craig Lippincott coordinator for Youthlinks Indiana and ISC Corporate Challenge. Lippincott was a sales associate for RCIGroup in Indianapolis.

Olympics

The Special Olympics named J. Brady Lum president and chief operating officer. Lum was vice president and project director, Manifesto for Growth, for Coca-Cola.

Soccer

The MLS Philadelphia expansion franchise hired Rob Smith as director of operations and Dave Debusschere as chief financial officer.

Sporting Goods and Apparel

Famous Footwear named Willie Smith senior vice president of marketing. Smith was chief marketing officer of athletics for Steve and Barry’s.
