PGA Tour’s Hughes sure can pick ’em
Of more than 250 responses in the SBD/SBJ Super Bowl Pick ‘Em, 22 correctly predicted the winning team and TV ad, but PGA Tour business development coordinator Emily Hughes was the only reader to run the board: She predicted a 17-14 Giants victory, Eli Manning as Super Bowl MVP and Anheuser-Busch taking the top spot in USA Today’s Ad Meter. Congratulations!
Steinberg goes green with Chiefs’ first family
Agent Leigh Steinberg (second from left) threw his 22nd annual Super Bowl party Feb. 2 at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix and used the event to promote the concept of environmentalism through sports. The guest list included some native wildlife, and proceeds went to the Environmental Fund for Arizona. With Steinberg are (from left) Norma Hunt, wife of late Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt, and Chiefs Chairman Clark Hunt with wife Tavia. Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano was among others attending the bash.
