Minor League Baseball promoted Steve Densa to associate director of media relations.

The Jacksonville (Fla.) Suns of the Class AA Southern League hired J.P. Shadrick as play-by-play analyst. Shadrick was a radio broadcaster for the Sioux Falls Canaries of the independent Northern League.

Lowstetter
The Philadelphia Phillies hired Scott Palmer as director of media and public affairs and Scott Franzke to its broadcasting team. Palmer was a consultant for the team, and Franzke was part of the Texas Rangers broadcast team.

The Los Angeles Dodgers hired Bill Lajoie as a senior adviser to the general manager. Lajoie was a special assistant in the Boston Red Sox baseball operations department.

The independent Northern League named Garrett Gosselink vice president of operations. Gosselink was in private business for the last year and was previously director of media relations for the Gary (Ind.) SouthShore RailCats.

Basketball
Pacers Sports & Entertainment hired Matt Lowstetter as sponsorship sales business manager. Lowstetter was a financial specialist for the F-15 Eagle at the Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Niemyski
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame promoted Alison Niemyski to account manager, marketing partnerships.

The Toronto Raptors named Bryan Colangelo president and general manager. Colangelo was president and general manager of the Phoenix Suns.

Colleges
Steve Baker resigned as president and chief executive officer of the NAIA.

Georgia Tech named Dan Radakovich director of athletics. Radakovich was senior associate athletic director at Louisiana State University.

Facilities
Delaware North Cos. promoted Greg Lesperance to vice president of technology and business process solutions.

Rod O’Connor was named senior vice president and general manager of The Home Depot Center. O’Connor replaces Bill Peterson, who was promoted to senior vice president of AEG Sports.

Tammy Tipton was named public relations assistant at Talladega Superspeedway.

Foss
Churchill Downs promoted Lee Ann Shellman to senior director of premium seating and membership services, Robin Sewell to sponsorship sales manager, Jennifer Warren and Gina Kehagias to group sales managers and Elizabeth Leis, Mandy Wood and Kelly Dunker to event managers.

Glendale Arena hired Jim Foss as senior vice president and general manager, Megan Curdy as arena marketing and publicity manager and Stephanie Johnson as staff accountant.

Global Spectrum named Lou D’Angeli assistant general manager of Temple University’s Liacouras Center. D’Angeli was assistant general manager and director of marketing for the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo.

Staples Center promoted Kathy Montoya to senior event manager and hired Devon Murray and Tim McNeff as event coordinators.

Curdy
Vail Resorts named Joe Micheletto chairman of the board and promoted Robert Katz to chief executive officer, Jeffrey Jones to senior executive vice president, Martha Rehm to executive vice president, Christopher Jarnot to senior vice president and William Jensen and Roger McCarthy to co-presidents of the company’s Mountain Division.

Football
Tim Millis was named executive director of the NFL Referees Association. Millis was supervisor of officials for the Big 12 Conference.

The North American Football League hired John “J.T.” Turner as commissioner. Turner has been commissioner of the Mid-America Football League and the Women’s Professional Football League.

Rick Nichols resigned as vice president of ticket operations of the Denver Broncos.

Golf
Paul Bogin, chief operating officer of the PGA of America, will retire at the end of the association’s fiscal year on June 30.

Hockey
The Motor City (Mich.) Mechanics hired Matt Ulanoff as president. Ulanoff was a sales and marketing executive for CBS Radio station WVMV.

Braza
Law
Foley & Lardner named Mary Braza chairwoman of its sports industry team. Braza also serves as outside counsel to Major League Baseball.

Marketing
CSMG hired Mike Hall as CEO. Hall was a longtime Leo Burnett executive.

Davie-Brown Entertainment named Ivory Tabb account coordinator for its talent division. Tabb was an assistant women’s basketball coach at Southern University.

Strategic hired Lily Miller as an account executive, Bobby Isom Jr. as assistant to the president and Nicole Roudiez as an operations assistant.

Magnuson
Phil Senich has formed Beyond The Field Marketing. Senich was community relations coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Active Marketing Group hired Eric Magnuson to lead its nationwide agency operations. Magnuson was senior vice president and managing director of Millsport.

Richard Barry stepped down as president of Public Communications Inc. and will retire from the company in September. Dorothy Oliver Pirovano, a senior owner of the firm, will succeed Barry as president and chief executive officer. PCI principals Ruth Mugalian and Jill Allrea, along with Pirovano, will form the new ownership team of the company.

OnSport named Todd Bramwell to its properties and media practice and Will Pleasants to its corporate consulting group. Bramwell was a partner at Mediaedge:cia, and Pleasants worked for Career Sports and Entertainment in Atlanta.

Strategic promoted Ken Seligman to associate vice president of operations.

Vivid Marketing Inc. hired Hal Price as vice president of account services.

Media
Fox Sports International promoted Sonia German to vice president of finance and hired Cindy Finocchi as director of finance.

Jeff Proctor left his position as vice president and senior executive producer of sports at KCBS and KCAL in Los Angeles to form his own production company, ProAngle Media, with Steve Rangel. Rangel was general manager of AEG Teleworks.

Rodale Inc. named Bouker Pool director of sports marketing and events. Pool is the founder of Podion Sponsorship Group.

Action Sports Media hired Brad Edwards as director of new business. Edwards was senior associate athletic director for business and development at the University of South Carolina.

Phelps
Seamans Media Inc. hired Erika Cohen as an account executive for Boston Sports Review.

SportsNet New York named Brian Erdlen general manager of advertising sales, Beth Albanese director of advertising sales and Brett Ehrlich director of new business development.

Motorsports
NASCAR promoted Steve Phelps to chief marketing officer, named Jim O’Connell vice president of corporate marketing and gave additional responsibilities to Paul Brooks, senior vice president of broadcasting and NASCAR Digital Entertainment.

VanDerSnick
Gary Nelson has formed his own company, Nelson & Associates. Nelson was vice president of research and development for NASCAR.

International Speedway Corp. named Roger VanDerSnick vice president and chief marketing officer. He replaces Paul Phipps, who was named vice president of strategic growth and development for ISC. VanDerSnick was vice president of marketing for NASCAR.

NASCAR named Kerry Tharp to manage public relations for its three national racing series and the weekly and touring series.

The NHRA named Brian Hacker media relations manager.

Phipps
Kevin Harvick Inc. named John Cowart director of sales and marketing. Cowart has worked for Lennox Inc. and NASCAR Images.

Soccer
The Houston Dynamo named Bryan Kraham director of sponsorships. Kraham worked for the Texas A&M Sports Network.

Real Madrid named Fernando Martín Álvarez president. He replaces Florentino Pérez, who recently resigned.

Sporting Goods and Apparel
Ashworth Inc. named Winston Hickman executive vice president and chief financial officer. Hickman was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Remec Inc.
