The Philadelphia 76ers hired Larry Cohen as vice president of ticket sales. Cohen was vice president of baseball services for tickets.com.

The Washington Mystics named Neville Waters vice president of marketing and business development. Waters was a senior account executive for Marriott International.

The ABA’s Maryland Nighthawks promoted David Lasday to assistant general manager.

The Houston Comets named Andrea Bouchey Young president and chief executive officer. Young was director of event booking and marketing for Clutch City Sports & Entertainment.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx hired Samantha Baugh as suite sales executive, Kelley Charlton as box office supervisor, Brandon McCray as a corporate account executive and Kathleen Carosi for sales of Lynx tickets.

Fastball Sports Productions hired Jim Liberatore as president of its new sports entertainment company. Liberatore remains chairman of racingjunk.com.

Fox Sports hired Chris Caldwell to the newly created position of vice president of client marketing. Caldwell worked in the sports marketing division at Gatorade.

Live Nation, formerly Clear Channel Entertainment, promoted Bryan Perez to president of interactive.

Setanta Sports promoted Kelly Butler to head of programming for Setanta Sports worldwide.

Street & Smith’s NASCAR Illustrated editor Steve Waid moved to a new role that will include online content, blogs and additional TV and radio exposure. Michael Fresina, Street & Smith’s Specialty Publications publisher and executive editor, was named editor of NASCAR Illustrated, with Specialty Publications creative director Val Helvey and staff writer Jay Pfeifer also joining NASCAR Illustrated.

Turner Sports New Media Group promoted Lenny Daniels to the newly created position of senior vice president of sports production and new media and Jeff Behnke to senior vice president and executive producer, and gave additional research and marketing responsibilities to Jeff Gregor, senior vice president of sports marketing and promotion.

The Skip Barber Racing School named Art Michalik general manager for the Western region. Michalik was director of marketing communications for the Yokohama Tire Corp.

Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure hired Troi Hayes as senior vice president of marketing, and Jason Jarrett, son of owner Dale Jarrett, joined the company at the new corporate headquarters in Newton, N.C. Hayes was senior director of marketing at Talladega Superspeedway for International Speedway Corp.

Major League Soccer and Soccer United Marketing hired Evan Burns as a staff accountant for the finance department.

The Colorado Rapids named Jeff Plush vice president and managing director. Plush was senior director of marketing and business development for Kroenke Sports Enterprises, the owner of the Rapids.

The National Alliance for Youth Sports promoted Becky Walker to director of marketing.

XOS Technologies named Fred Vint NBA sales manager.

The British Olympic Association named Graham Newsom director of communications. Newsom was head of communications for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

The New York Olympic Regional Development Authority named Ted Blazer president and chief executive officer. Blazer had resigned this past summer from the authority.

The Professional Bull Riders promoted Boyd Moon to senior vice president of information technology and named Steve Gander senior vice president of international operations. Gander was manager of the Dodge Rodeo and founder of SMG Co.

American Youth Football named Mitch Hardin chief operating officer. Hardin was director of sales for the New England Patriots before being appointed chief of staff for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Florida Citrus Sports named Gary Cohen chief financial officer and Matt Dunn membership sales manager. Cohen was director of finance for the Florida Eye Clinic and Laser Center, and Dunn was associate director of the Gainesville Sports Organizing Committee.

Beach Tennis USA named James Russo vice president of marketing and development. Russo was national tour manager for SoBe.

Marianne Caponi was hired to lead sports public relations for LaSalle Bank. Caponi was corporate communications senior manager for the Chicago Bulls.
