Ex-Cornrich client Jurevicius goes to Dunn’s Athletes First

Athletes First has signed Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Joe Jurevicius for representation in NFL free agency, which begins March 3.

Agent David Dunn will serve as the primary agent for Jurevicius, said Reed Dickens, spokesman for Newport Calif.-based Athletes First, in an e-mail.

Jurevicius was represented by agent Neil Cornrich, who began serving a one-year NFL Players Association-mandated suspension last August.

The NFLPA has been trying for three years to enforce a two-year suspension against Dunn, but has been unable to because Dunn is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Bankruptcy halts all administrative actions against a debtor, although the NFLPA is suing to try to force Dunn to submit to the union’s disciplinary process.

Seattle Seahawks receiver Joe Jurevicius is
set to become an unrestricted free agent.
On a related note, the Boston Globe reported earlier this month that New England Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri has chosen Jonathan Hurst, an agent in Cornrich’s firm, to represent him in free agency negotiations. Hurst could not immediately be reached for comment.

3 GO ALL PRO: All Pro Sports & Entertainment has signed a group of NFL draft prospects for representation, including USC safety Darnell Bing.

Denver-based All Pro also signed Notre Dame wide receiver Maurice Stovall and Texas A&M quarterback Reggie McNeal. Agents Lamont Smith and Peter Schafer will represent the players. Web site NFLDraftBlitz.com ranks Bing No. 37 and Stovall No. 69 in this year’s NFL draft.

TYE GOES TO OCTAGON: Octagon has signed prospects for this year’s NFL draft, including Clemson cornerback Tye Hill, who is projected to be a first-round pick.

Octagon also signed Michigan wide receiver Jason Avant, Purdue defensive end Ray Edwards, Washington State running back Jerome Harrison, Boise State offensive tackle Daryn Colledge and Cal offensive tackle Ryan O’Callaghan.

Agent Mike Sullivan will represent O’Callaghan, agent Jeff Sperbeck represents Colledge and agent Doug Hendrickson represents Avant, Edwards, Harrison and Hill.

Web site NFLDraftBlitz.com ranked Colledge No. 50, O’Callaghan No. 77 and Edwards No. 85 on its list of top 100 draft prospects. Hill was ranked No. 20 by ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. and No. 39 by NFLDraftBlitz.com.

“We feel Tye Hill will be the first corner taken,” Hendrickson said. “We think he will be the fastest corner at the combine.”
