Basketball
The Charlotte Bobcats hired Wade Leaphart as account manager, premium sales. Leaphart was director of sales for the Fresno (Calif.) Falcons of the ECHL.

Facilities
Shawn Hunter was promoted to president of AEG Sports.

Eddie Hayashi retired as manager of Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

Hockey
The Chicago Blackhawks named Amy Goldstein customer service specialist/receptionist in the ticket services department. Goldstein was with the Columbus Blue Jackets, where she focused on client services.

Dan Terhaar was named television play-by-play announcer of the Minnesota Wild and will be integrated into the organization’s communications, sponsorship, marketing and community relations efforts.

The Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League named Kristine Douglas business manger and Kristin Toth public relations coordinator. Douglas was director of business development for OnlyOne, and Toth was media relations representative for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks.

The AHL’s Lowell (Mass.) Lock Monsters named Kevin Cummings president, Kevin Bartl director of media and team services, and Nick Williams and Brandon Malone account executives. Cummings was executive vice president and chief operating officer for the Worcester (Mass.) IceCats; Bartl was director of media relations and broadcasting for the Bakersfield (Calif.) Condors and Blitz; Williams was an account executive for the IceCats; and Malone was an intern with the Lock Monsters.

Arndt
The United Hockey League’s Motor City Mechanics of Fraser, Mich., hired Casey Arndt as a marketing executive.

The Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League named Mike Thornton director of public relations and Brian Smith assistant director of public relations. Thornton was director of broadcasting and public relations for the Worcester (Mass.) IceCats, and Smith was new media coordinator for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Soccer
The Milwaukee Wave of the Major Indoor Soccer League hired Brad DeRosa as vice president of business development and promoted Jenny Gryniewicz to vice president of sales.

Darcy Parker was named manager of consumer products for MLS. Parker was in the licensing department for the Professional Bowlers Association.

The Chicago Fire hired Kerri Howells, Brad LaPaugh and Joseph Smith as ticket sales representatives.

FC Dallas named Justin Pearson media relations manager.

Bibb
Greg Bibb, executive vice president and general manager for the Major Indoor Soccer League’s Philadelphia Kixx, resigned his position to become president of Hantz Group Sports and Entertainment. The team promoted Darcee Edrozo to vice president/external operations, David Deal to vice president/internal operations and Sherri Miller to ticket sales manager and named Elaine Piontkowski manager of marketing and ticket services, and Rob Brown and Pat Fisher account executives.

Sporting Goods and Apparel
The Spalding Group’s American Athletic Inc. promoted Mark Shaw to vice president and general manager.

Sports Law
Franklin Jones Jr. joined Greenberg Traurig LLP as a shareholder in its Houston office. Jones was a partner at Winstead Sechrest and Minick P.C.

Michael Phillips was named director of sponsor services for the Sea Otter Classic organization. Phillips was president, chief executive officer and partner of OutdoorMind LLC.

Atlanta Spirit LLC, parent company of the Hawks, Thrashers and Philips Arena, promoted Kevin Preast to senior director of marketing and business development.

Devine Racing hired Steve Miller as president and chief operating officer. Miller was president and chief executive officer of the Professional Bowlers Association.

Commissioner Fred Schreyer was named president and chief executive officer of the Professional Bowlers Association.

Paciolan named Dave Butler chief executive officer and president. Butler was president and chief executive officer of TCI Solutions.

Duich
Joseph Duich was selected to receive the 2006 Old Tom Morris Award for lifetime commitment to the game of golf from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.

The 2005 USTA Media Excellence Awards winners were Dale Robertson of the Houston Chronicle for print, CBS Sports for broadcast and Nube Urgiles of El Diario/La Prensa newspaper for multicultural media.
