Nielsen Weekly Sports Ranking

NBA RANKS FIRST, SECOND-TO-WORST: Game 7 of the NBA Finals was television’s most-watched show of the week from June 20-26, averaging 13.06 million households on a Thursday night. ABC averaged 9 million households for the seven-game San Antonio-Detroit series. Only NBC’s six-game San Antonio-New Jersey series in 2003, which averaged 6.95 million households, drew a smaller audience.
ESPN SCORES WITH N.Y. INTERLEAGUE GAME: ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” offering on June 26 (N.Y. Mets vs. N.Y. Yankees) was cable’s most-watched sports event for the week and the network’s best “Sunday” game to date, with an average of 2.72 million households tuning in for the interleague game. Among all cable offerings, the game was the 10th most-watched program of the week.
