Nielsen Weekly Sports Ranking

FULL DAY OF RACING: ABC’s coverage of the Indianapolis 500 drew 7.09 million households, up 58.6 percent from last year and topping Fox’s same-day broadcast of the Coca-Cola 600 for the first time since 2001. That was the case even though the average audience of 6.66 million households that watched the prime-time Nextel Cup Series race was the event’s biggest TV audience ever and marked a 23.5 percent increase over last year’s broadcast.
