Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme speaks at the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Mecklenburg County Spring Games recently in Charlotte. Delhomme is a longtime supporter of Special Olympics, and proceeds from the sale of his cereal, Jake’s Flakes, go to the organization. Delhomme was joined by Sir Purr, the Panthers mascot, who also entertained the athletes between events.

Communication skills
Fox Sport President Ed Goren (left) received a special award at the 40th anniversary celebration of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication on May 3 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. Fox Sports Chairman David Hill presented Goren with the award. Goren is a Syracuse alumnus.
