BASEBALL

Seif (left) and Doing
Kirsten Seif and Chad Doing were hired by the Portland Beavers of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League to sales account executive positions.

The Brockton (Mass.) Rox of the independent Northeast League promoted Andy Crossley from season ticket and group sales to assistant general manager and Andrea Thrubis from director of community relations to director of promotions.


BASKETBALL

Shumate
Katie Kirschner was named sponsorship services account executive for the Charlotte Bobcats. Kirschner was Fenway affairs coordinator for the Red Sox.

The Orlando Magic hired John Shumate as corporate account coordinator.


COLLEGES

The Big South Conference named Mark Simpson director of public relations. He was previously with The Sports Business Daily.


FACILITIES

Palace Sports and Entertainment promoted Mindi Kwiatkowski from marketing coordinator to director of advertising.

Brown
Agganis Arena at Boston University named Amy Brown general manager, Jason Soucy assistant general manager/manager of sales and marketing and Gene Connelly manager of ticketing. Brown was previously assistant general manager/marketing manager for the Spokane (Wash.) Arena. Soucy had been with the PGA of America as the operations coordinator for the 1998 Ryder Cup matches, and Connelly was ticket operation manager for the Nashville Predators.

The Bell SensPlex, the practice facility under construction for the Ottawa Senators, appointed former Canadian Olympian Ron Davidson director of hockey programs.

Walters
Global Spectrum named Christine Walters general manager of the Pueblo (Colo.) Convention Center. Walters joined Global Spectrum after working as director of Monroe (La.) Civic Center Complex.

SMG named Allan Vella general manager of Ford Park in Beaumont, Texas. Vella recently served as general manager of the Saginaw County (Mich.) Events Center.

Global Spectrum named Neil McMullin the general manager of the Ikon Center in Cheyenne, Wyo.


FOOTBALL

The Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League hired Evan Shapiro as an account executive.

Gene Nudo was named vice president and general manager of the Arena Football League’s Arizona Rattlers.

Muller
The Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League hired James Muller as manager of ticket sales and service. Muller was director of sales for the Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League during the 2003-04 season.


HOCKEY

As part of a restructuring of their media relations department, the San Jose Sharks named Ken Arnold senior director of communications and promoted Scott Emmert to director of media relations.

The Utah Grizzlies of the American Hockey League named Chris Haggin public address announcer for the 2004-05 season.

The Florida Panthers promoted David Helfman and Brad Hoffman to new-business development account executives, Becky Stoltz and Wes England to special-events coordinators in the suite sales and service department, Lauren Preziosi to database marketing manager and Kevin Rooney to senior account executive in the new-business development team.

The Manchester (N.H.) Monarchs of the American Hockey League promoted Josh Nason to director of ticket sales and Jason Bergeron and Matt Junkin to senior account executives.


LACROSSE

Carpenetti
US Lacrosse hired Ann Carpenetti as women’s division director, Erin Smith as assistant director of programs and Molly Genung as programs assistant.


MARKETING

Fuse promoted Issa Sawabini to partner. Sawabini had overseen the agency’s consulting group.
