Biskamp
The Houston Rockets and Comets hired Mark Biskamp as vice president and general counsel.

The Charlotte Bobcats named Dell Curry director of player promotions.


BASEBALL

The Houston Astros named Paul Ricciarini director of scouting. David Lakey has been reassigned from director of scouting to special assignment scout.

The Atlanta Braves named Len Brown assistant team counsel. Brown was with the Washington, D.C., law firm Williams & Connolly.


FOOTBALL

The Denver Broncos promoted Andrew Mason to managing editor of denverbroncos.com, James Merilatt to publications manager and Mike Sarro to Internet services manager. All were formerly marketing communications coordinators. Annie Hellerstein was hired as graphic designer.

The Atlanta Falcons hired Jim Smith as vice president of marketing. Smith previously worked for the Columbus Crew as president and general manager.

The Orange Bowl hired Adam Summerell and Kevin Weinkam as ticket operations assistants.

The San Francisco 49ers named David Peart vice president, sales and marketing. Peart formerly worked with the Houston Texans as vice president of corporate sales.

The New York Jets added Jason Gonella as senior director of suite and club seat sales. Gonella was formerly with the Philadelphia Eagles as vice president of sales, premium services.


GOLF

Ed Several was hired as industry vice president and show manager for PGA Golf Exhibitions. Several was vice president of marketing service for Top-Flite Golf Co.


HOCKEY

Lozito
The Syracuse (N.Y.) Crunch of the American Hockey League promoted Todd Cross to ticket manager/account executive and hired Mike Lozito as an account executive.

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association named Dick Bennett president. Bennett was the association’s vice president, western district.

The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim promoted Alex Gilchrist to director, communications and team services from manager of communications and team services; Merit Tully to communications and team services manager from senior media relations representative; Maureen Nyeholt to executive assistant/travel coordinator from administrative assistant to the senior vice president and general manager; and Gina Bulgheroni to premium ticketing representative from ticketing representative. Pam Kennedy was hired as advertising sales manager. Kennedy was strategic partner specialist with the Orange County Market Place.

The ECHL Atlantic City (N.J.) Boardwalk Bullies promoted Joe Harrington from director of ticket operations and sales to assistant general manager and director of sales and marketing. The team also named Glenn Fallon, ticket sales and public relations manager for the Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Pelicans of the Class A Carolina League, its director of ticket operations and sales, Amy Golden community relations coordinator and Brett Houck customer service representative.


AWARDS AND BOARDS

Sailing World announced three new inductees into its Hall of Fame. Bill Buchan, Vince Brun and John Kotecki were added to the roster of the sport’s all-time best racing sailors, designers and innovators.

John Krouse of the Pensacola (Fla.) Ice Pilots was chosen as the 2003-04 recipient of the Southern Sports Supply ECHL Equipment Manager of the Year award.

Michael Yormark, chief operating officer of the Office Depot Center and Florida Panthers, was selected as a winner of the 2004 FEDC Richard L. McLaughlin Volunteer of the Year Award by the Florida Economic Development Council.
