Teeing it up: Year-to-date PGA Tour ratings

The following presents the average ratings posted by the PGA Tour's broadcast partners for coverage of the events oustide the year's four majors that had been played through June 6. Ratings represent weekend coverage (tournaments' third and fourth rounds). Cable ratings are coverage-area ratings.
CBS posted a 5.9 average rating for its third-round coverage of this year's Masters (vs. a 5.2 in 2003) and a 7.3 average for the final round (8.3 in 2003). The year's second major, the U.S. Open, was scheduled to air on NBC this past weekend.

Note: ABC this year picked up coverage of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and the FBR Open. Each was broadcast by CBS in 2003. CBS added coverage of the FedEx St. Jude Classic, which aired on ABC in 2003.
