The Bowie (Md.) Baysox of the Class AA Eastern League named Brian Shallcross assistant general manager. Shallcross formerly was director of ticket operations.

The Seattle SuperSonics and Storm named Michael Humes executive vice president, sales and marketing. Humes comes from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Los Angeles Clippers hired Joni Maybury and Alan Mowrey as account executives.

The Cleveland Cavaliers promoted John Fisher to director of group sales from manager of group events, Damion Chatmon to director of database marketing from manager of database marketing, Bryan Ralston to group sales manager from senior group event specialist, Troy Tutt to suite sales manager from sales consultant, Robin Liesem to account services manager from ticket sales coordinator, Mike Sansone and A.J. Bondi to senior sales consultants from sales consultants and Meredith Scerba to group sales coordinator from group events assistant.


FACILITIES

Anaheim Arena Management, management company for the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, promoted Peter Dropick to director of special events. Dropick was formerly senior event manager.

Connell
Comcast-Spectacor promoted Jean Connell to chief financial officer for Wachovia Center and Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia.

 

 

Bradley (left), Burke
Palace Sports and Entertainment named Kelly Bradley promotions coordinator and Jamie Stepanian-Bennett public relations coordinator in the marketing department. FleetCenter hired Maura Ann Burke as executive director of The Sports Museum, located in the Premium Club on the arena’s fifth and sixth levels. Burke formerly worked at Burke Distributing Co.


FOOTBALL

Cass
The Baltimore Ravens named Dick Cass president. Formerly, Cass worked at the Washington, D.C., law firm of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering.

 

 

Graff
NFL Films appointed Bill Graff executive in charge of studio and remote production. Graff was formerly with ESPN working as coordinating producer.

 


LACROSSE

Terry
The Tewaaraton Award Foundation named Elizabeth Terry executive director. The foundation, in conjunction with the University Club of Washington, D.C., awards the Tewaaraton Trophy annually to the top male and female varsity collegiate lacrosse player in the country.

 


MARKETING

Motorsports driver Eliseo Salazar was named a managing director of the new Hispanic sports marketing unit of Connecticut-based Penfield Marketing Group, Penfield Latino.


OTHER

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd., which owns the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors and Air Canada Centre, promoted Tom Anselmi to executive vice president, chief operating officer. Bob Hunter was promoted to executive vice president and general manager of Air Canada Centre, Dave Hopkinson was promoted to vice president corporate sales and service, and Beth Robertson was promoted to vice president of marketing.

Atlanta Spirit, which owns the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers and operating rights to Philips Arena, named Bill Duffy, former Florida Panthers CFO, executive vice president and chief financial officer. Ailey Penningroth was named vice president of strategic planning, special assistant to the president and CEO.
