Phoenix park still the BOB
Bank One's agreement in principle to be acquired by J.P. Morgan Chase will not affect naming rights at Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix. Diamondbacks managing general partner Jerry Colangelo told The Associated Press, "Permission would have to be sought to change the name and that's not in the cards." Colangelo said Bank One executives told him the corporation had no interest in changing the ballpark's name.
McEnroe links with CNBC
John McEnroe will host a new prime-time talk show on CNBC starting this spring. The hour-long show, to air Monday through Friday at 10 p.m. ET, will cover a variety of topics, including news, entertainment, politics and sports. McEnroe will serve as co-executive producer, along with his agent, IMG's Gary Swain. McEnroe also signed a deal with Kellogg Co. to promote its new soy-based Smart Start cereal. Terms of the deal, which includes print and Internet ads, were not disclosed.

Pepsi's Sierra Mist brand. Sierra Mist will replace Pepsi as MLS' official soft drink under a two-year partnership that extends through the 2005 MLS season. Adu conducted a media tour last week in New York, doing photo shoots for Interview and Vanity Fair magazines, followed by an appearance on MTV's "TRL." He also was scheduled to do an interview for an upcoming edition of "60 Minutes."
IROC tabs Crown Royal
Crown Royal last week announced a multiyear agreement to be the official title sponsor of the International Race of Champions series. The Crown Royal IROC series includes four races, the first in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Feb. 13. As part of the deal, all Crown Royal IROC cars and promotional materials associated with the sponsorship will carry the message "Be a Champion, Drink Responsibly."
