Vick drops Octagon

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has fired Octagon and hired agent Joel Segal. Segal's company, Worldwide Football Inc., represents 40 NFL players, including Vick's teammate, T.J. Duckett. Vick was represented by Octagon senior associate director of basketball and football Andre Colona. Vick's contract with the Falcons expires after the 2006 season. The quarterback counts Nike, Hasbro, Coca-Cola and EA Sports among his endorsement deals.

Arrington joins NFLPA

Washington Redskins linebacker LaVar Arrington ended the holdout of his group licensing rights and has agreed to give those rights to the NFL Players Association. Arrington was the only current NFL player who did not sign the group licensing agreement, which allows Players Inc., the NFLPA's licensing and marketing subsidiary, to make deals using his name, number, voice and image in licensed deals involving six or more NFL players. His refusal to sign over the rights has been the subject of controversy since he was the No. 2 pick in the 2000 NFL draft.

week unveiled plans for the construction of a 42,000-seat ballpark with natural grass and a retractable roof that would cost about $450 million. HOK Sport designed the facility, which would be completed for the 2008 season at the earliest. The team said it was prepared to contribute $120 million.

Interpublic sheds auto tracks

Interpublic announced that it was selling the four United Kingdom auto racing tracks owned by its Brands Hatch Circuits unit to MotorSport Vision Limited for an undisclosed sum. The sale includes Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park and Snetterton. The company's Brands Hatch unit has been a drag on Interpublic's financial performance.
