Football Network adds Katz to lineup

Katz
Ray Katz has joined The Football Network as senior vice president of marketing.

Katz's career has included time as senior director of marketing at the NFL, marketing director at the Walt Disney Co., director of sales at Madison Square Garden, head of The Lord Group's sports marketing unit at Dentsu/Young & Rubicam, and founder/president of Smartix International.

He is also an adjunct professor at NYU's Tisch School, where he teaches undergrad and grad courses in sports e-commerce and sports media and public relations.

Katz is agraduate of the MBA program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

The Football Network is a national cable network that plans to begin operations in the fall.
