Pack makes plans for Lambeau rededication

The Green Bay Packers last week unveiled their old-school "Rebirth of a Legend" patch and logo that will serve as the club theme for the rededication of renovated Lambeau Field and the coming season. The patchwill be on player jerseys for the opening game Sept. 7 against the Minnesota Vikings.

The club plans a bevy of activities leading up to the game, including a two-hour televised in-stadium entertainment show the day before the game. Admission will be $15.

Because the Packers have a long waiting list for game tickets, the club "wanted to make sure we had something for everyone" in the week leading up to the opener, said John Jones, the Packers' chief operating officer.

On Aug. 31, the Pack will play host to a kickoff ceremony. The next day, Labor Day, there will be a picnic honoring the construction workers, while Tuesday will see the dedication of the Robert E. Harlan Plaza, named after the team president.

On Wednesday, the DVD "Legend of Lambeau Field" will have its premiere, and dedication of the new Packers' Hall of Fame is Thursday. On Friday will be the inaugural Lambeau Field gala benefiting St. Mary's Hospital.
