KCTV leads Chiefs network
KCTV in Kansas City will serve as flagship for a 12-station network broadcasting Kansas City Chiefs preseason games this year. Roger Twibell and Jayice Pearson will call the games. The network will reach about 4.5 million homes in the Midwest.

New magazine to cover Bills
The Buffalo Bills, American Sports Media LLC of Rochester, N.Y., and Curtis Publishing of Florida are teaming up on a new publication, Bills Digest, which will serve as the official publication of the team. American Sports Media has published Shout! magazine, a publication dedicated to the Bills, for the past 11 years. That paper, one of six published by American Sports Media covering NFL teams, will cease when the new paper starts in late July. Curtis also publishes team papers for the Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles.

New tech for SportsLine
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Internet sports media company SportsLine.com and DDB Technologies LLC, an Austin, Texas-based intellectual-property holding company, said SportsLine.com has licensed DDB's patent portfolio relating to the use of interactive media to cover live sporting events. SportsLine.com has been granted a nonexclusive license to three DDB patents. Financial terms and conditions of the deal were not disclosed. The technology described in the patents supports Internet-oriented data services, including live game status, play-by-play text, graphics and animation and after-the-game replay.
