Sunshine valued at $100M

The Sunshine Network, the Florida regional sports network owned by Fox Entertainment Group, has been valued at $100 million in a proposed transaction. Adelphia Communications Corp., which owns a 3.6 percent stake in the network, asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York for permission to sell its interest for $3.6 million. Bankruptcy Court documents reportedly said Adelphia bought its stake in Sunshine in 1994 for $100,000. The valuation came from a 2001 appraisal of Sunshine by Communications Equity Associates. Adelphia filed for bankruptcy protection a year ago and has been shedding what it considers non-core assets.
