The Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League hired Scott Sterneckert as director of sales and promoted Jim Brylewski

to vice president of marketing and sales and Jamie Smock to director of communications.

The Fresno (Calif.) Falcons of the ECHL hired Rebecca Durant as accounting manager, Elizabeth Smith as director of operations and Wade Leaphart as account executive.

Geoff Kent was promoted to senior vice president/general manager of the Central Hockey League's New Mexico Scorpions in Albuquerque.


MARKETING

Bob Bartholomew was hired as director of sales at fan loyalty software developer Smart Button of Newark, Del.

Kathryn Stuart was hired as events manager at Florida Citrus Sports, whose events include the Capital One Bowl and Mazda Tangerine Bowl.

Robertson
Michael Robertson was hired as senior vice president/creative director for Heil-Brice Retail Advertising, based in Newport Beach, Calif.

Host Communications named Steve Wright general manager overseeing sports marketing and media assets of the University of Michigan.

Coleman
Deborah Coleman was hired as an account executive for On Air Productions, based in Baltimore.

Morgan Futch was promoted to account executive and Courtney Dougherty to account coordinator for Silverman Media & Marketing Group, based in Woodbury, N.Y.

Gerard Schifano was hired as national sales manager and Howard Simon as business development manager for East Brunswick, N.J.-based promotional merchandise distributor Corporate Edge.


MEDIA

Goralski

ESPN Radio named Keith Goralski director of operations and promoted Pete Gianesini to program director. Louise Cornetta will assume responsibility for the content and production of ESPN Radio's nighttime programming.

Helfand
Alan Helfand was named vice president of broadcast operations for Fox Sports International.

 

 


MOTORSPORTS

Dover Motorsports Inc. hired Timothy Ramsberger as general manager for the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Indianapolis-based CART Champ Car named Mark Walters director of sales, Tim Fought manager of media sales and Bob Gallant manager of strategic partnerships.


SOCCER

Erik Bjornstad and Travis Watkins were hired as account executives with the San Jose Earthquakes.


ATHLETIC DIRECTOR HONOREES

Recognized at the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics’ annual convention recently were, Gary Cunningham (top center) of the University of California-Santa Barbara, receiving the James J. Corbett Memorial Award from former Washington AD Mike Lude (top left) and Oklahoma AD and NACDA President Joe Castiglione.
