New York Knicks players and Wall Street executives teamed up for the Net Gain Tournament at New York City's Basketball City to help raise money for New York City public high school basketball programs. At the tournament, the Knicks' Allan Houston received the H.O.O.P.S. (Helping Out Our Public Schools) Award for his commitment to youth.

The Minnesota Vikings donated $4,000 from the team's player fine fund to the needy at Union Gospel Mission in St. Paul, Minn. Coach Mike Tice served lunch at the mission April 24. He has distributed $39,000 from the fine fund to local charities and causes during the off-season.

More than $7,000 in proceeds from the Jacksonville Grand Prix benefited the Spina Bifida Association. The European-style go-kart race was hosted by EnduranceKarting.com.

Fulton Homes, Fox Sports Net Arizona and the Arizona Diamondbacks teamed to support local chapters of the United Cerebral Palsy and the YMCA. Whenever a Diamondbacks player hits a home run during a Fox Sports Net Arizona telecast, Fulton Homes will donate $150 to one of the charities. During the first half of the season, the donations are given to United Cerebral Palsy; in the second half of the season, YMCA is the recipient.

The Minnesota Timberwolves' Wally Szczerbiak will host a two-day basketball academy as part of the inaugural "Wally's World," which is a four-day September fund-raising event. Proceeds will benefit the Minnesota Timberwolves Community Foundation and other local charities.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays will select up to eight fields this season for their Diamonds in the Rough program. Head groundskeeper Dan Moeller and his staff will perform improvements and train league volunteers about upkeep.

Minnesota Twins wives sold scratch-off tickets in the Metrodome during Mother's Day weekend to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Thirty winning tickets will entitle fans to game-used Twins jerseys.
