SFX Tennis clients sign deals with Adidas

Ally Baker and Vera Zvonareva, two of the youngest and most promising female tennis clients of SFX Tennis, have signed multiyear clothing and shoe deals with Adidas.

Additionally, Baker has signed a multiyear racket deal with French racket maker Babolat and Zvonareva has signed a multiyear deal with Austrian racket maker Fischer.

SFX Tennis President Ken Meyerson, who negotiated the agreements with SFX Tennis agent John Tobias, would not reveal dollar figures for the deals, but said that all four deals were heavily performance based.

If Baker, who just turned 17, or Zvonareva, 18, crack the top 10 in the rankings of the world's best female tennis players in the next few years, their racket and clothing and shoe deals could be worth millions, Meyerson said. Each of the four deals includes a base guarantee payment, which Meyerson declined to reveal.

Zvonareva has gone from being ranked 327th in the world to 29th in the last 14 months, Meyerson said. "I think Vera really has a shot to be a top-10 player this year or next," he said.

"Ally, because she is so young, she has a shot at being in the top 30 in the next 18 months to two years."

Baker is ranked No. 363.

Baker has already starred in Babolat racket television commercials, which have been shown throughout Europe, with SFX client Andy Roddick.

Meyerson said Baker has great potential for off-the-court endorsements because of her good looks.

In other news, SFX Tennis signed Younes El Aynaoui, ranked No. 18 in the world, for exclusive representation on and off the court. El Aynaoui, a 32-year-old native of Morocco, was formerly represented by IMG.

SFX Tennis also signed American Rob Kendrick, 22, ranked 127th, for representation.

Additionally, SFX client Brian Vahaly, ranked No. 71, signed a multiyear clothing and footwear deal with Adidas and a multiyear deal with Babolat rackets.
