Meatpacker titles races
Sahlen's Packing Co. of Buffalo will be the title sponsor for Watkins Glen International's Sports Car Grand Prix and the Six Hours of the Glen. The event is scheduled for June 20-22. Terms of the marketing deal were not disclosed.

Chevy at Atlanta track
Atlanta Motor Speedway signed Chevrolet to a four-year pact as the track's official car, truck and sport utility vehicle. The General Motors subsidiary will provide Monte Carlo pace cars for NASCAR Winston Cup races at the speedway. The new deal includes tie-in promotions with local dealers, starting with Chevy Thunder Days before the March 7-9 Atlanta 500 weekend.

Acxiom signs for sports cars
Information-management company Acxiom Corp. took title sponsorship of the Grand Touring division of the Rolex Sports Car Series. The cornerstone of the sponsorship will be the Acxiom Grand Touring Challenge, which offers competitors an opportunity to win awards worth more than $80,000. The price of the deal was not released.

PacifiCare backs race team
PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. reached an agreement with Newman/Haas Racing to sponsor its No. 1 car in the CART series for 2003. The sponsorship marks consumer health organization PacifiCare's entry into motorsports.

Big West's big names
The House of Blues and the ESPN Zone at the Downtown Disney District signed to become corporate partners with the Big West Conference for its 2003 men's and women's basketball tournaments, to be held at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena in March. The Downtown Disney District will be the official headquarters of the Big West Tournament Fan Fest with the House of Blues and the ESPN Zone being the primary venues for Big West fans to meet before or after tournament games. Financial details were not disclosed.
