MARKETING AND LICENSING DEALS

Sports nutrition company Met-Rx selected Brand Sense Marketing LLC as the exclusive licensing agent for its sports nutrition brand.

Ticket software services firm Season Tickets and Palisades Baseball, which owns the Erie (Pa.) Sea Wolves of the Class AA Eastern League, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of Niles, Ohio, of the Class A New York-Penn League and the South Bend (Ind.) Silver Hawks of the Class A Midwest League, reached a deal that will allow companies and groups to buy tickets online with the ST Ticket Window.

ARCA Re/Max racer Mike Johns of the Braun Racing Team signed a representation agreement with Chicago-based sports marketing and management firm SportsLoop.

The Bowling Proprietors' Association of America entered into an exclusive discount program agreement with office supplier Office Depot. BPAA member bowling centers will now receive discounts on office supplies.

SPONSORSHIPS

The Philadelphia Eagles extended their multiyear contract with Key States Chrysler-Jeep Dealers, which will now be a founding partner of Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles' new stadium, to open in 2003. The extension is for 10 years.

Former Masters champion Larry Mize signed a long-term deal with Pro Tour Memorabilia to produce autographed and un-autographed images and memorabilia marking Mize's golf career. Terms were not disclosed.

Ben Hogan Golf, a division of Spalding Sports Worldwide Inc., signed Scottish golfer Colin Montgomerie to a multiyear worldwide contract beginning in January. As part of the agreement, the terms of which were not disclosed, Montgomerie will play the Ben Hogan Apex Tour golf ball and Ben Hogan Apex irons, carry the Ben Hogan golf bag, and wear an Etonic or Ben Hogan glove.

Redwood City, Calif.-based software company Electronic Arts entered into an agreement with former University of Kansas basketball player and current Memphis Grizzlies rookie Drew Gooden, who will be spokesman for EA Sports NCAA March Madness 2003. Gooden will appear on all packaging, advertising and marketing materials for the game.

American Airlines returned as a presenting sponsor of the AT&T Wireless Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, featuring four men's college basketball games played Nov. 14 and 15. This is the fifth year American has sponsored the event, which benefits the American Cancer Society. Returning as presenting sponsor is TIAA-CREF, a retirement system for the U.S. education and research sector.

The International Hot Rod Association and Grand Bend Motorplex, a race strip in Ontario, signed a four-year contract extension to present the Mopar Performance Parts Canadian Nationals at the strip. The extension ensures that the event, part of the Hooters IHRA Drag Racing Series and scheduled for the weekend of May 30-June 1, will be held at the Grand Bend Motorplex through the 2007 season.
