Real Madrid Weighing Next Move After ACB's Statement

The Spanish Basketball League (ACB) released a statement regarding the controversial ending of Real Madrid's Copa del Rey final loss to Barcelona, according to EL MUNDO. ACB President Antonio Martín in a statement recognized "grave errors at the end of the game." The league, however, will not take action against the referees who were involved. Real Madrid called the ACB's explanation "regrettable, taking into account the nature of what happened." The club said in a statement, "Real Madrid of course understands that human errors can happen in any sport, but demands a clear response to what took place. ... In light of both statements [from the ACB and referees' association] and the lack of concrete responses to this incomprehensible decision by the referees, Real Madrid will continue considering the measures and actions to adopt" (EL MUNDO, 2/19).
