Finance Notes: Saudi Prince Reportedly Offers £3.8B For ManU

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman is "stepping up" his £3.8B ($4.9B) takeover bid of ManU "in the hope of becoming the new owner by next season." It comes with ManU execs "spending an increasing amount of time in Saudi Arabia." Bin Salman's family is worth around £850B ($1.01T). ManU sources "have always denied the Glazers want to sell, but the mega offer could be too good to turn down" (THE SUN, 2/17).

Serie B club Palermo announced it was sold again on Thursday, "the second time in three months that it has changed hands." A statement on the club website said that Daniela De Angeli and Rino Foschi, who was named club president, finalized "an agreement regarding the transfer of ownership of the Palermo Football Club" from British-based Sport Capital Group (REUTERS, 2/14).
