Eleven Sports To Be Available In 3.9 Million Portuguese Homes

Eleven Sports signed long-term agreements with "all four TV operators" -- Altice, Nos, Nowo and Vodafone -- in Portugal, according to Chris Dziadul of BROADBAND TV NEWS. As a result, it will be available for subscription on TV platforms in 3.9 million homes, "thereby achieving 100% pay-TV distribution in the country." The partnership kicks off immediately, with all eight Champions League round of 16 fixtures, including Tuesday's game between AS Roma and Porto, airing on Eleven Sports on all four platforms. Eleven Sports has been present in Portugal since May '18, when it secured rights in the country for the Champions League and La Liga. All content will be available on Eleven Sports on the four TV platforms for €9.99 ($11.32) per month or €99.99 ($113.31) annually, "mirroring the price point of Eleven’s online streaming service in Portugal." Eleven Sports Exec Chair & Group CEO Marc Watson said, "This is a significant moment in our development as a group, which also establishes Eleven Sports as a leading player in Portugal for the long term" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 2/12).
