Carlton Hopes To Turn Ikon Park Into High-Performance Women's Hub

Australian Football League side Carlton is planning to turn Ikon Park into the home of AFL Women's football after receiving A$15M ($10.6M) of federal government investment, according to Jon Ralph of the HERALD SUN. Carlton President Mark LoGiudice spoke of the club’s "ambitious plans" after receiving A$15M from the federal government to turn Ikon Park into a "high-performance hub" of women’s football. Not only will it house the club's AFL, Victorian Football League and AFLW teams under one roof, it will "incorporate a women's coaching education hub and a sports injury prevention and research centre." LoGiudice also announced Ikon signed up for a further five seasons as naming rights sponsor of the ground (HERALD SUN, 2/10).
