Inter Milan CEO Wants 'Smaller But Excellent' New Stadium

Inter Milan CEO Alessandro Antonello revealed his vision of a "smaller but excellent stadium" as talks were confirmed with AC Milan to improve San Siro, according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. AC Milan President Paolo Scaroni also discussed the new stadium project, "which will see the two clubs work together" on either modernizing San Siro or building a new stadium. Antonello "echoed his thoughts" on the requirement to upgrade the shared home of the two clubs, and outlined the plan to "potentially reduce the capacity but improve the matchday experience for supporters." Antonello: "Managing the stadium means almost managing a Champions League final every week. ... We envisage a smaller capacity because the average attendance of the two clubs is 60,000. What matters is the experience for the fans. It might be a smaller stadium but an excellent one" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 2/6).
