League Championship Side Hull City Reveals New Club Crest

League Championship side Hull City revealed a new club crest "which has been chosen from fan feedback," according to FOOTBALL TRADE DIRECTORY. The logo has a different shape from the previous one and features the addition of "Hull City" emblazoned above the tiger. The new crest will be on Hull City's kit from the beginning of the '19-20 season. A "long process involving a creative panel" was utilized to gather input from fans (FOOTBALL TRADE DIRECTORY, 2/5).

U-TURN: In London, Richard Gibson reported Hull City "completed a U-turn" when it reintroduced its name to a "newly-designed club crest." Five years ago, club Chair Assem Allam "dropped it from the official badge during a spell in which he pushed to rebrand the club to Hull Tigers." Allam claimed that "City was common and that the Yorkshire club would be more marketable globally" if known formally by its nickname of the Tigers. However, the FA "blocked the change amidst protest from the club’s supporters groups" (DAILY MAIL, 2/5).
