Marketplace Roundup: WTA Renews Global Partnership With Porsche

The WTA announced Porsche renewed its global partnership. The car manufacturer will continue as the official and exclusive automotive partner of the WTA and the WTA Finals Shenzhen. Porsche will also continue to be the title sponsor of the season-long WTA Finals qualification campaign (WTA). 

Super League side Dragons Catalans announced Altrad Group as an official sponsor. Catalans is the only French club in the U.K.-based competition and became the first non-British team to win the Challenge Cup last season. Altrad’s logo will be featured on the team’s home and away jerseys (Dragons Catalans).

Scottish Rugby announced U.K. estate agency Purplebricks as the new back-of-shirt sponsor of the Scotland national team throughout the Six Nations. Purplebricks extended its support for Scottish Rugby after becoming a partner before the 2018 Autumn Tests (Scottish Rugby).

The South African FA rejected a one-off 100,000 rand ($7,500) MiWay sponsorship offer for the Women's World Cup later this year. SAFA said that it is only interested in attaching itself to "long-term sponsorship partners" and is "not interested in bringing on board sponsors just for the Women's World Cup." SAFA CEO Russell Paul expressed appreciation for the offer, but said that SAFA could not accept "handouts" but rather "sought long-term partners who will help to grow the game" (THE SOUTH AFRICAN, 2/3).

Team GB partnered with U.K. house builder Persimmon Homes. The three-year deal includes Persimmon's £1M ($1.3M)-a-year nationwide funding scheme, Building Futures. Team GB will support the Building Futures program, which aims to assist community sports, education and arts & health initiatives for U18s (Team GB). 

Australian esports organization ORDER announced a sponsorship deal with PC hardware brand Alienware. It is the company’s first partnership with an esports team in Australia. ORDER was founded by Australian League of Legends shoutcaster Jake Tiberi (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 2/1).
