Names In The News: ManU's Fellaini To Join CSL Side Shandong Luneng

ManU reached an agreement with Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng over the transfer of midfielder MAROUANE FELLAINI. It is understood the Belgian player "already passed his medical and the transfer is close to being completed" (BBC, 1/31). ... Former Scottish Premiership side Celtic defender RAMON VEGA is to challenge FIFA President GIANNI INFANTINO in June’s presidential elections for football’s governing body. Vega, 47, has been working as a financial advisor in London “since hanging up his boots and is now planning to run against Infantino.” He requires five nominations before Feb. 5 to stand in the elections (HERALD SCOTLAND, 1/30). ... ANTONIO CONTE denied claims that he is “on the cusp” of returning to management after attending the Coppa Italia clash between Atalanta and Juventus on Wednesday. The former Chelsea manager has recently been linked with AC Milan and Inter Milan, and was also rumored to be the “leading candidate” for the Real Madrid job after JULEN LOPETEGUI was sacked in October (London DAILY MAIL, 1/31).

A DAY IN THE LIFE: Amazon Prime Video announced it is in the process of producing a docuseries about Real Madrid's SERGIO RAMOS. The series will cover Ramos' life on and off the field as captain of both Real Madrid and the Spanish national team (AS, 1/30).

RICH LIST: Spanish newspaper El Mundo recently published its annual list of Spain's 200 richest people. Real Madrid President FLORENTINO PÉREZ (€1.22B/$1.4B) is No. 40, Villarreal President FERNANDO ROIG (€930M/$1.06B) is No. 54 and Atlético Madrid CEO MIGUEL ÁNGEL GIL MARÍN (€240M/$275M) is No. 192 (MARCA, 1/31).
