Huddersfield Town Owner Dean Hoyle Sounding Out Takeover Offers

Premier League side Huddersfield Town Owner Dean Hoyle is "open to takeover offers as he weighs up the possibility of relinquishing control of his boyhood club," according to Jack Gaughan of the London DAILY MAIL. Hoyle has been majority shareholder for the last decade, taking the club from League One to the EPL and securing its first year in the top flight since '72. The 51-year-old has reportedly "deployed at least one advisor to sound out any potential interested parties." A club of Huddersfield's size "would expect to fetch" in excess of £80M ($104.5M). Hoyle's stint in charge has been hugely successful, "with much of that down to shrewd decisions when appointing new managers" -- chiefly David Wagner in '15. Hoyle "has also moved to significantly improve Huddersfield's infrastructure" and the club announced plans for the £20M redevelopment of its Canalside training ground earlier this season (DAILY MAIL, 1/24).
