Event Notes: NBA 2K League Announces APAC Invitational In Hong Kong

The NBA 2K League announced the APAC Invitational, the league's first int'l qualifying event, will take place from Feb. 2-3 in Hong Kong. The event will identify several elite players from the Asia-Pacific region who will become eligible for the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft. The Invitational will feature players from Australia, China, New Zealand and the Philippines (NBA 2K League). 

England Rugby players will share a jackpot of around £4M ($5.2M) if they win the Six Nations Grand Slam this season. The payout would include a £1M ($1.3M) bonus paid out by the Rugby Football Union, with the governing body in line to receive around £25M ($32.6M) in prize money and revenue share if the side wins all five championship matches (London TELEGRAPH, 1/22).

Esports media brand ELEAGUE and game publisher Electronic Arts will host several FIFA 19 tournaments in '19. At least two of these events will be a part of the EA Sports FIFA 19 Global Series FUT Champions Cup, the first of which will take place in February with the ELEAGUE FUT Champions Cup February. ELEAGUE was created by Turner and IMG in '16 (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 1/24).
